JCB Generator Supplied to Dubbo Sands in Western NSW

JCB Generators Australia has recently supplied one of our powerful G400QX generators to Dubbo Sands in Dubbo, New South Wales.

Dubbo Sands is a leading producer of sand and gravel and requires a reliable generator to operate its sand and aggregates wash plant, pumps, screens and conveyors. JCB Generators Australia is also providing on-site training for Dubbo Sands employees in machine use and maintenance.

Mt Webber Mine Accommodation Camp.
Pilbara, West Australia

JCB Generators Australia recently commissioned stage 1 of a 200 man accommodation power project at Mt Webber, which is a remote iron ore mine site in the Western Australian Pilbara region. This area boasts some of the world's largest open cut mines, ore deposits as well as oil and gas reserves. Summer temperatures approaching 50 degrees celsius in the shade add to the challenges of accessing and working in such a remote location.
The scope of works for this project includes 3 x 300 kVA prime power generators to be installed by completion of stage 2 in November 2013. A 4th generator may be required in 2014 depending on mine expansion plans.

In addition to the generators, JCB-GA’s scope included supply and installation of a 105,000 litre diesel storage tank complete with pump bay & controls, stainless steel pipelines and a fully automatic fuel transfer system. At the time of writing, JCB-GA has installed two of the three G330QX’s and fuel systems. (As pictured)

For the technically minded, the generators are synchronized using Deep Sea 8610 controllers. This approach provided a number of benefits that added to the simplicity and reliability of the control system as described below:

· Automatic synchronization and load sharing

· Automatic control of the pumps and solenoid valves that transfer diesel from the 105,000 litre bulk tank to the generator ‘day tanks’.

· Automatic ‘load demand’, which means that when the electrical load drops below a predetermined level, generators progressively shed load and shut down leaving the bare minimum generator capacity running to suit conditions. As the load increases, “resting’ generators are restarted and brought back on line. The obvious advantages of the load demand system are fuel savings, reduced wear & tear and less chance of engine glazing.

SEQ Water - Queensland

Overview

We've recently completed a project for SEQ Water in which we supplied an emergency power response unit ( G65QX Generator / LT9 Light Tower combo). The generator provides enough power to allow starting and running of motors at water pumping stations (65kVA), while the LT9 tower gives 360,000 lumens to allow emergency or scheduled work at night.

The total weight of the trailer unit is less than 3.5 tonne and so can be towed by a standard 4WD vehicle making for easy and rapid deployment. The trailer was designed and fabricated by JCB generators Australia in Melbourne.

Dimensions and Fuel Capacities

Total unit dimensions: 6,350mm x 1,580mm.
Fitted with electrical hydraulic disk brakes with safety breakaway system.
Total weight 3,500kg.
Generator 65kVA with an integral fuel tank capacity of 280L (19.8hrs at full load).
Light Tower also with its own individual fuel tank of 100L (94hrs at full load).

Additional Electrical Information

Fitted with the custom recessed outlets for power when on site (1 x 32A three phase and 3 x 15A single phase).
32A three phase outlet fitted with forward-reverse switch for changing direction of smaller pumps when on-site.
External appliance inlet for battery charger when on standby .
External cable entry for hard-wire connection to main circuit breaker (internal gland plate).

JCB Generators Australia is welcoming our new Regional Sales Manager – Mark Bermingham to our team.

Mark will be covering Eastern Victoria (working out of our Traralgon office), covering Pakenham to Mallacoota including the entire Gippsland Region. Mark will be specialising in providing power for industries in the Latrobe Valley, Oil & Gas Markets both onshore & offshore, dairy companies, government departments, utilities companies, construction companies, electrical contractors and manufacturing plants. Mark will also be covering North East Victoria, Central Victoria and North-West Victoria, working out of our Bendigo office.

With the introduction of a regional sales manager, we hope to introduce regional areas to our high-quality generators and lighting towers.
